Inland Bali is a completely different wedding to the coast. Instead of an ocean horizon you get depth — layered green valleys, river gorges, palm canopy and terraced rice fields — and it's centred on Ubud and the villages around it.
Who it suits
Couples who find beach weddings a bit expected, and couples for whom the cultural side of Bali matters. Ubud is the island's arts and spiritual centre, and a wedding there tends to feel more rooted in place than a resort beachfront does.
It also photographs quite differently: soft, diffused light under canopy rather than the hard golden hour of the coast, and a colour palette of deep greens rather than blues.
What to know

Rain is more frequent than on the coast, and it can arrive as a short heavy burst even in dry season. A covered backup is not optional here; it's part of the plan.
Access takes longer than the map suggests. Ubud roads are narrow and slow. An hour from the airport on paper is often two in practice, and some valley venues involve a walk or a steep drive from the drop-off point. Tell your guests honestly.
Insects at dusk. Reputable venues fog and provide repellent. Ask.
Rice terraces specifically
Terrace venues are seasonal in appearance — the fields cycle through flooded mirror, vivid green, and harvested brown over roughly a four-month rotation. If the emerald-green look is what you're picturing, ask the venue what the fields will actually look like in your month. This catches a lot of couples out.

Where your guests will stay
