Villa weddings are the quiet favourite among couples who want the day to feel like theirs rather than an event slotted into a resort's calendar. You hire an entire private estate, usually for two or three nights, and the wedding happens inside it.

What exclusive hire actually gives you

Total privacy. No other guests, no other events, no strangers in the background of your photographs.

A multi-day wedding. Most couples use the villa for a welcome dinner the night before and a recovery brunch the morning after. The wedding stops being a single afternoon and becomes a weekend.

Accommodation built in. Your immediate family and bridal party sleep on site. That removes a whole category of logistics — transport, getting-ready locations, the morning-of scramble.

Vendor freedom. This is the big structural difference from a resort. Villas typically let you bring your own caterer, florist, planner and photographer, rather than choosing from a preferred-supplier list. If you have strong opinions about food or styling, that matters.

The trade-offs

You're building the wedding from parts. A resort package arrives with a coordinator, kitchen, furniture, staff and a wet-weather plan. A villa gives you a beautiful empty space — everything else is hired in, which is why a wedding planner is close to essential here.

Capacity is real. A villa that sleeps 10 does not comfortably seat 100 for dinner. Confirm the maximum event capacity, which is often lower than the marketing suggests, and check whether there are local restrictions on numbers or amplified music.

Neighbours and noise. Many villas sit in residential areas with a hard music curfew — commonly around 10 or 11pm. Ask before you book a band.

What it costs

Villa hire varies enormously with size, location and season, and most villas quote per night rather than per event. The listings below show published pricing where available. Remember that villa hire is the starting cost — catering, furniture, staffing and styling are all additional, unlike an all-in resort package. Our cost guide breaks down the full picture.
